      The Over-The-Rainbow Academy (The OTR Academy) is the labour of love of Over-The-Rainbow, and the approved charity serving youths and their families in the mental health space since 2012. Having supported thousands of youths and families through its initiatives and programs over 14 years, it is now set to scale its impact further with the launch of The OTR Academy. The OTR Academy is a talent development platform with a mission dedicated to raising the standard offor mental wellness practices in the home, workplace, home and community. Using Through its evidence-led courses taught trained by certified professionals and wellness practitioners, OTR Academy envisions educating 10,000 leaders and mentors by the year 2030 in leading this movement in mental wellbeing.

      Through our courses, practitioners can equip themselves with the fundamentals of mental health and self-care, and to build on that foundation with advanced skill-sets such as empathic communication, the science of wellbeing, counselling, coaching and mentoring fundamentals. There are two stages for the pathway - certification as  Wellbeing Champions  at the first stage followed by a more advanced stage of being certified as  Wellbeing Mentors


      Each foundation includes opportunities to volunteer through official platforms owned and operated by Over-The-Rainbow, complementing every practitioner’s knowledge with real-life practice.

      The OTR Academy is an inclusive institute of continuous learning - one that is by the community for the community and one that welcomes everyone, whether they are already practising or are beginners in your mental health and wellbeing journey.       Depending on the course, it may be conducted in person or hybrid (both virtually and in-person). Due to the nature of the topics covered around mental health and wellbeing, the value lies in meeting your facilitator and other learners in-person, as learning will be complemented with exercises like deep reflection, goal setting, skills practice and role play.

      We are based in Singapore.

      We currently require all practitioners who sign up for the course to be based in Singapore. We may have plans to open up in other parts of the world.  Sign up  for our newsletter to be kept up to date with our latest news.

      Our courses are conducted by accredited professionals and highly experienced practitioners in the mental health and wellness industry. You may find information about our facilitators  here .

      Our courses are designed to fit into busy lives. The Wellbeing Champion course requires a total of 17 hours of set coursework, plus 10 practicum sessions set at your own pace over a period of 3-6 months.


      The Wellbeing Mentor course (with Wellbeing Champion as a prerequisite) requires an additional 21 hours of set coursework, plus 20 practicum sessions also set at your own pace over several months.

      We accept credit/debit cards and Stripe. For any payment-related enquiries, please contact us at  academy@overtherainbow.sg.

      All courses are non-cancellable and fees non-refundable once payment is made.

      We require a minimum of 20 learners in each cohort to proceed with the course. We reserve the right to reschedule the course should this minimum requirement not be met. 

      You will receive a credit if any course rescheduling is required, and this credit will be valid for up to 12 months from the date of the original course schedule.

      We currently do not offer any subsidies, although this is something we are actively working on. With the Singapore government’s launch of the   National Mental Health and Well-Being Strategy in 2024, we are optimistic that this may be something we can offer in due course.   Sign up   for our newsletter to be kept up to date with our latest news.

      Over-the-Rainbow conducts regular webinars and workshops on various important topics related to mental health and wellbeing, parenting, education, caregiver support, etc. You may find information on our free events here.

      You may start by signing up for the   Wellbeing Champion course , and select the cohort with the dates that are suitable for you.

      We require full attendance for all modules under the Wellbeing Champions and Wellbeing Mentors course in order to grant the formal certificates. In the event that you are not able to attend one of the modules as part of the course you've signed up for, you will receive credit which can be used for the same module in a future cohort. The credit will be valid for 12 months from the date of the original module.

      Yes you can. The individual you are sponsoring can complete and submit the application form for the course, and the payment after confirmation will be made by you. The individual taking the course will be responsible for getting the sponsor to reimbursement payment (to you) for the course.
